Mr. Ashwin Thacker, MD and CEO of Flamingo Pharmaceuticals started the company in 1986 as an export trading company and has today developed it into a Pharma major that takes ‘Made in India’ formulations to the world.

Mr. Thacker single handedly took the company from a trading house to a manufacturing driven corporate, with increased sales and distribution networks in semi -regulated and regulated markets. Flamingo Pharmaceuticals today, has WHO-GMP & UK-MHRA accredited, green field manufacturing facilities at Rabale and at Taloja.

Mr. Thacker has travelled extensively, developing business contacts in the Pharma trading / manufacturing arenas. Today Flamingo Pharmaceuticals supplies antibiotics and analgesics among others to more than 45 countries across 5 continents in both the regulated and semi- regulated markets. Through his Pharma Manufacturing experience and expert understanding of regulatory requirements, Mr. Thacker has successfully created an image for Flamingo as the preferred contract manufacturer of formulations for some of world’s front ranking pharmaceutical companies.

Keeping in line with the vision to establish Flamingo as one of India’s leading global contract manufacturing Pharma Company and apex presence in the semi- regulated market, Mr. Ashwin Thacker’s aims to develop a strong presence in India via its Domestic Operations and by adding different therapeutic categories to its product range .

Mr. Thacker’s quest for excellence and determination, has lead the company to receive the prestigious IDMA Quality Excellence award in the year 2006.
